About Course

New Testament Survey is a foundational course from Solid Rock Baptist Institute designed to help students understand the books, message, history, doctrine, and prophetic hope of the New Testament.

This course gives students a broad overview of Matthew through Revelation, including the four Gospels, the book of Acts, the Pauline Epistles, the General Epistles, and the book of Revelation. Students will study the life and ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ, the birth and growth of the early church, the spread of the gospel, the instruction given to local churches, and the believer’s hope in the return of Christ.

Students will read the course textbook, complete workbook assignments, study the major divisions of the New Testament, read the entire New Testament, complete a final course assignment, and take a final exam covering both the curriculum and the New Testament Scriptures.

  • Explain the basic storyline from the birth of Christ to the book of Revelation.

  • Understand the purpose of the General Epistles.
  • Explain the basic message of the book of Revelation.
  • Recognize key New Testament doctrines such as salvation, the church, Christian living, and the return of Christ.
  • Gain a stronger foundation for understanding the Christian life and the ministry of the local church.

Course Content

Course Lessons
A foundational textbook-based course that surveys the New Testament from Matthew through Revelation. Students will study the life of Christ, the early church, the epistles, major New Testament doctrines, the book of Revelation, and the believer’s hope while also reading the entire New Testament as part of the course requirement.
